Have You Ever Seen the Rain

The straightforward simplicity and soulful nature of Creedence Clearwater Revival has always been appealing to me. In this song, the lyrics of "have you ever seen the rain / coming down on a sunny day" mixed with the chord progression evokes memories and thoughts of bummer days that one just has to grin to get through.

So true to life, fellas. Thanks for composing it.

By way of explanation...

I took piano lessons (at the loving behest of my mother) up until the age of 11, at which point I moved to Indiana and didn't have a piano teacher. However, at the age of 12, I started playing piano at church, which became essentially my only outlet for playing piano.

I took up saxophone, guitar, harmonica, and bass during high school and played these several instruments in band class, a community marching band, my pilot neighbor's blues band, various theatrical productions, and my own failed attempts at starting garage bands.

To this day, I thoroughly enjoy listening to and playing music; I just don't have a lot of outlets for it.

Thus, dear listener, you have become both victim and motivation - serving as a reason for my continued exploration and experimentation with music, for music has always been more meaningful to me when I have the opportunity to share it. I hope you find something here to enjoy.
